8 Disney Characters That Should Have Their Own Spinoff

Sharon Knolle
April 5, 2016 - 1 min read

We loved forgetful Dory in "Finding Nemo," so hurrah for the upcoming sequel "Finding Dory." But we need more spinoffs and sequels featuring our favorite Disney characters. From Sven to Abu, here are eight other Disney characters that deserve spinoffs.

Gaston in 'Beauty and the Beast' (1991)

We could never love Gaston as much as Gaston loves Gaston, but we do get a tremendous kick out of the egocentric guy. Give him a heroic mission and would he really be that different from, say, Iron Man? (Sans the shiny suit, philanthropy and inventive genius.)

Evinrude in 'The Rescuers' (1977)

Sort of an aquatic Uber, this industrious little dragonfly ferries folks back and forth in Devils Bayou. He can't talk, exactly (unless you also speak "buzz buzz"), but he is brimming with personality.

Lumiere and Cogsworth in 'Beauty and the Beast' (1991)

Imagine "Downton Abbey," but with this charming candlestick and clock constantly butting heads about the best way to run the Beast's estate. Yes, please!

Abu in 'Aladdin' (1992)

Aladdin's monkey friend doesn't talk, but he is extremely useful. And whatever he's in -- be it a cooking show or a treasure hunter series -- we'd watch. Because so cute.

The Aliens in 'Toy Story' (1995)

Known as "squeeze toy aliens" and "Little Green Men," these hilariously happy creatures are some of the funniest (and most grateful) guys in the "Toy Story" universe.

Boo in 'Monsters, Inc.' (2001)

Whatever happened to Boo? The adorable tot from "Monsters, Inc." stole our hearts and, like, Sully, we were really sad to say goodbye to her. It would be great to see how she grew up. We assume she's pretty fearless now, since monsters don't faze her one bit.

Kristoff and Sven in 'Frozen' (2013)

We can't get enough of this dashing duo who not only help save the day, but are funny and sweet into the bargain. Imagine the adventures a heroic ice merchant and his trusty reindeer could get into.

Olaf in 'Frozen' (2013)

The happiest snowman ever (sorry, Frosty), this plucky little fellow doesn't let anything get him down. Since he's got his own personal weather system thanks to Elsa, he can hit up those beaches and flower-filled meadows like he's always dreamed.
