7 Disney Animals So Huggable We Could Cry
We feel pretty much the same way Kristen Bell does about sloths, which is just one reason we're excited for Disney's "Zootopia" (in theaters Friday, March 4th). A whole world full of adorable animals? We might faint. Here are a few of our all-time favorite Disney animals.
Bambi
Our hearts broke along with this lovable, gangly little deer when he lost his mother. *sniff* How affecting is this 1942 classic? It inspired Paul McCartney (and possibly hundreds of others) to become a vegetarian.
Jiminy Cricket
This top-hatted cricket was Pinocchio's best friend and sometimes unwelcome conscience. When he sang "When You Wish Upon a Star," it became the heart-swelling Disney theme song.
Baloo
We all need a best friend like Baloo, one who knows about the finer things of life, who loves to dance and who gives great bear hugs. We're with Mowgli: We just want to stay in the jungle with Baloo.
The Beast
Underneath those fearsome fangs and horns lies the heart of a teddy bear: Belle's not the only one who fell in love with him. More than one kid was upset when at the end of the film, the Beast disappears and there's some strange Prince guy in his place.
Stitch
Who can say no to an Elvis-loving alien? Not us! Reconfigured for maximum cuteness to appeal to earthlings, he's pretty hard to resist.
Sven
So Sven didn't get a big song or inspire legions of little girls to dress up like him, but we can't help loving the big, goofy, carrot-addicted galoot from "Frozen." How many kids asked Santa for a reindeer after this hit movie?
Mickey Mouse
Imagine a world without Mickey Mouse! The happy-go-lucky mouse who was essentially Walt Disney's animated alter ego starred in the 1940 musical anthology "Fantasia" and has delighted kids of all generations since.
