2019 Oscars Class Photo: Inside the Nominees Luncheon
The Oscars class of 2019 gathered to celebrate their nominations and the year in film just weeks before the Feb. 24 Academy Awards ceremony.
Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Spike Lee, Rami Malek, and Glenn Close attended the annual Nominees Luncheon and mingled with fellow 200-plus luminaries.
There were a few no-shows, notably Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Adam Driver, and Kendrick Lamar.
Malek was reportedly "the darling of the event," according to Entertainment Weekly. Cooper and Lee spent time catching up, but Lee notably did not clap for fellow Best Director nominee, "Green Book's" Peter Farrelly.
John Bailey, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, lauded the diversity of the 2019 class.
“This year has the largest class of women nominees. Far from parity, and of course we need to do better. Gender parity is an industry matter, not just an Academy matter,” Bailey said.
“Inclusion, diversity, racial, ethnic and gender equality are not just buzzwords. They go to the heart of what our Academy is doing”
