Venom: The Last Dance Review
‘Venom: The Last Dance’ is Sillier Than Ever – But Slightly More Fun. With each movie in the ‘Venom’ trilogy getting progressively dumber than the last, the threequel goes all-in and ends up being the best of the bunch.Let’s be clear about one thing: when we say that ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ is the best of the three movies starring Tom Hardy as both former reporter Eddie Brock and the voice of the alien symbiote that lives inside him, we’re talking about a very low bar.
‘Venom’ (2018) and ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ (2021) were genuinely painful to sit through, with the latter in particular being unwatchable gibberish. ‘The Last Dance,’ written and directed by Kelly Marcel (from a story by Marcel and Hardy), is nonsense too – but it leans all the way into its ridiculousness from the start, which gives it a big advantage.
