Reunion Review
‘Reunion’ is a comedy murder mystery that dies in both genres. Featuring the normally reliable comedy talents of Billy Magnussen, Lil Rel Howery, Jillian Bell and Michael Hitchcock, it nevertheless wastes most of them.It is tempting to suggest that ‘Reunion’ was birthed when someone watched the Apple TV+ comedy thriller series ‘The Afterparty’ (created by Phil Lord and Chris Miller and boasting both clever plotting and a quality cast) and decided, “we could do that, but on a skimpier budget.
” Yet this “new” release was actually filmed back in 2021, so at least it has that in its defense.
