Fly Me to the Moon Review
‘Fly Me to the Moon’ often stalls, but works hard to stay airborne. One great movie and a couple of okay ones fight for space in ‘Fly Me to the Moon,’ an uneven mix of rom-com and space drama that’s just enjoyable enough.‘Fly Me to the Moon’ has ambitions almost as large as that of the men and women of NASA who are trying in the film to land a human being on the Moon.
It wants to be a rom-com. It wants to be a screwball comedy. It’s kind of a conspiracy thriller. And it’s a sweeping historical drama about the effort to send the Apollo 11 mission into space – and it’s that last version of the film that works best, when it gets its turn onscreen.
