The film documents the life of the Renaissance master primarily through his sculpture and architecture; the famous Pieta, the colossal David, the tomb for Julius II for which he labored in the mines of Carrara, Christ Bearing the Cross, the Laurentian Library in Florence, the sachristy in San Lorenzo, the Medici Chapel and his triumphs in the apse and facade of St. Peter's basilica in Rome. Directed by Charles Conrad and Luigi Moretti, a well-known Italian architect, is also an instructor in the history of architecture and restoration of ancient monuments at the University of Rome. He is the founder and editor of the architectural magazine SPAZIO. MICHELANGELO: The Man With Four Souls won the Lion of St. Mark award at the Venice Biennale in 1964.
