Leaving Time features footage originally shot by director Mark Jordan in 1992 for Jarmans solo exhibition Queer at Manchester Art Gallery including Jarmans take on morality the tabloid press and the terminology applied to peoples sexuality It presents this alongside intimate footage of Jarman in his studio during the creation of his final series of paintings and offers a new audience the opportunity to hear the filmmaker discussing his Queer politics and the art that came from his personal experiences To present a positive remembrance of Jarmans own personality the film is accompanied by an upbeat soundtrack including compositions from Moongoose and Yorkie
