As the son of the first African-American opera singer to perform at the met, and a university voice teacher, Bobby McFerrin was always destined for vocal greatness. Over the course of his career, he developed a unique style that incorporated body percussion, overtone singing, and entirely acapella music. The best example of the McFerrin style is his now iconic song Don’t Worry Be Happy. In this 1988 concert, Bobby McFerrin shows off his four-octave range with an impressive improvised solo.
