17 Days: The Story of Newspaper History in the Making
Promotional film demonstrating the importance of newspapers in everyday life. Set during the citywide strike of newspaper delivery truck drivers in the summer of 1945, the film shows how the public literally went the extra mile to get their papers directly from the Daily News (the film's sponsor). Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia does his part by reading aloud the Dick Tracy comic strip on the radio.
