Temi Ami-Williams Biography
Born and bred in Akowonjo, Lagos Nigeria, Temi got her bachelor's degree in theatre arts from the Department of Creative Arts, Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos in 2018. She also has a Master's Degree in Anthropology and Ethnochoreology of Dance and Intangible Cultural Heritage (2023) from the Choreomundus: International Master in Dance Knowledge, Practice and Heritage program, which is a consortium of Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA) France, University Of Szeged (SZTE) Hungary, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the University of Roehampton, London (UOR), through the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree scholarship scheme.
Temi is a culture enthusiast and creative entrepreneur (actor, voice-over artist, costume designer, performance artist, and dance researcher ). She is the Creative Director at New Wine Studios where she has makes experimental and ethnographic films. Temi is a seasoned actor for stage, film, and television and is the first Nigerian actress in history to win a prize at Africa's most prestigious film festival, the Pan African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou as the FESPACO winner for Best Young Actor from West Africa 2021 for 'Eyimofe: This is my Desire', a feature film directed by Arie and Chuko Esiri and premiered at the 70th Berlinale in Berlin Germany, February of 2020, before going on to show in several international film festivals where it won several awards, and went on to have its global cinema run.
She also received a nomination for The Future Awards Prize for Acting in 2021. With 9 years of practice and experience, Temi serves as Chief Creative Officer at Unteamed Nigeria, a craft and costuming company she established for stage, film, TV, music videos, commercials, and animated character costumes.
