Kristín Jóhannesdóttir Biography
Kristín Jóhannesdóttir (born 17 November 1948) is an Icelandic film and theatre director. Kristín has directed numerous works on stage and television but also films. Kristín's parents were Sigurbjörg Þorvaldsdóttir (1918-2007), a housewife, and Jóhannes Elíasson (1920-1975), a bank manager. Kristín's husband was Sigurður Pálsson (1948-2017) writer and poet.
Their son is John Paul (1987). Kristín graduated from Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík in 1969 and then went to France and graduated in literature and film studies from Université Paul Valéry in Montpellier in 1975, a DEA degree (first part of a doctorate) in Film Studies from the same school in 1977 and later a final degree in film direction.
