Christine Pelisek Biography
Christine Pelisek is an award-winning journalist who has been covering crime for almost 15 years, most recently as a senior writer for PEOPLE Magazine. She previously worked at Newsweek/Daily Beast and LA Weekly. In 2008, while at the LA Weekly, Pelisek broke the story that a serial killer who murdered women in South Los Angeles for decades had struck again in 2007.
In 2009, she received a Finalist Prize (Tom Renner Award) for her Grim Sleeper investigation by Investigative Reporters and Editors, Inc. That same year, she won first place in Investigative Series Category for the Grim Sleeper stories at the 2009 Southern California Journalism Awards. In March of 2014, Lifetime aired a feature movie about Pelisek's role in the Grim Sleeper case.
She also wrote a book on the same case titled The Grim Sleeper. She's been profiled in the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, Columbia Journalism Review, and the Ottawa Sun, and has been interviewed as a crime expert by CNN, MSNBC, Headline News and the Nancy Grace Show. Pelisek is known for Mind of a Monster (2019), People Magazine Investigates (2016) and Thinking Sideways Podcast (2013).
