Cheryl Thompson Biography
Dr. Cheryl Thompson is an Assistant Professor at Ryerson University in the School of Creative Industries. She is also a member of The Yeates School of Graduate Studies, and the Graduate Program in Communication & Culture, where she also earned my MA in 2007. Her first book, Beauty in a Box: Detangling the Roots of Canada’s Black Beauty Culture, was published by Wilfrid Laurier Press in 2019.
Her next book, Uncle: Race, Nostalgia, and the Politics of Loyalty, was published in February 2021 by Coach House Books.
