Alexa Moneii Agaloos Biography
Alexa Moneii Agaloos is a 23-year-old filmmaker and a graduating student at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, where she is completing her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting. Alexa has established herself as a versatile filmmaker with experience across various roles in production, direction, and editing. Her directorial work on “Ka Benjie” (Fiction Shorts) earned multiple nominations, including Best Musical Scoring, Best Editing, and Best Film, as well as a Special Citation from the Mowelfund Film Institute.
The film was an official entry in the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival 2024. Alexa also directed and edited “Alteraksyon: Sa Likod ng Lente,” a documentary that won 3rd place in the Documentary Special Feature category at the Philippine Journalism Research Conference 2023. Her range of skills extends to her work as an online editor, colorist, sound designer, and supporting actress in “Al-owlah” (Fiction Shorts), which was a finalist in the UNHCR 2nd Refugee Film Festival and secured 2nd Best Short Film.
Her expertise in editing and cinematography is further highlighted by her contributions to “Red Strings of Faith” (Fiction Shorts), where she served as master editor, GFX editor, supporting actress, and director of photography. The film was a Gawad Sining Film Festival 2023 finalist and won Best Screenplay. Alexa's role as master editor and camera operator for “Kahon” (Fiction Shorts) led the project to become a Gawad CCP Alternatibo Finalist 2023, winning Best in Production Design at the SIKAT Awards.
In the realm of documentary filmmaking, Alexa has worked as production manager and editor for “Lucky People” and as producer and editor for “Hiram Na Riles.”
