Here's When 'Avengers 4' Finishes Reshoots & 'Spider-Man: Homecoming 2' Films
Chris Evans has said that the upcoming reshoots for "Avengers 4" will most likely mark his last time suiting up as Captain America.
That time is coming soon.
That Evans interview had mentioned the reshoots for this fall, but -- according to a report from Omega Underground -- "Avengers 4" reshoots will take place over the summer in Atlanta and New York City and be complete by September 1.
Often when fans hear the word "reshoots" they think there's trouble in paradise. But Marvel pre-plans reshoots/additional photography and schedules it out way in advance so they can lock down their high-profile cast to return. It's part of their usual MO, and their usual MO has yet to suck.
The Omega reporter, Christopher Marc, also said Tom Holland's "Spider-Man: Homecoming 2" will wrap filming in December. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige had already mentioned the "Spider-Man" sequel -- which apparently cast Jake Gyllenhaal as the villain -- would start filming in July.
How will this "Spider-Man" resolve the, um, major obstacle set up at the end of "Avengers: Infinity War"? That's gonna have to be "Avengers 4's" problem. "Avengers 4" will give a "finale" to some storylines, and launch some new ones.
Kevin Feige recently talked to Collider about the upcoming MCU production schedule:
I know you have not really announced the 2020 movies but obviously Spider-Man must be getting ready to start filming soon, it's supposed to be the summer. Guardians 3 is coming 2020. What's coming up for Marvel in terms of filming later this year?
FEIGE: Spider-Man, that's it. Spider-Man starts in July and that comes out in July of 2019.
So there's nothing else being done later this year or just stuff that hasn't been announced yet?
FEIGE: There's a lot of development work on the future of the MCU and things like that but Spider-Man will be the only thing filming. There might be additional photography for—there's Ant-Man and Wasp going on, Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, but Spider-Man is the first.
"Ant-Man and the Wasp" opens in theaters July 6. "Captain Marvel" started filming in March and will be released in March 2019, two months before "Avengers 4" arrives on May 3, 2019. "Spider-Man: Homecoming 2" opens next July.
Meanwhile, "Avengers: Infinity War" is close to $2 billion at the worldwide box office and will reportedly be released on digital July 31 and on Blu-ray August 14. But Marvel has yet to share any details on the home release.
