Anne Hathaway Replacing Amy Schumer in the 'Barbie' Movie?
Amy Schumer is officially out of the "Barbie" movie, and Anne Hathaway is (not quite officially) in, according to The Wrap.
The Oscar winner is in talks to star in the upcoming Sony film, with Alethea Jones in talks to direct. Jones's first feature film, "Fun Mom Dinner," is out August 4.
The movie, about the famous doll with the awesome accessories, already has a release date: June 29, 2018.
Kim Caramele (a regular writer for "Inside Amy Schumer") and Diablo Cody (of "Juno" and "Jennifer's Body" fame) share writing credit on the screenplay, indicating we'll likely be getting a more edgy and empowered Barbie than we saw in "Toy Story." Then again, this is an official Matell production.
Amy Schumer was originally slated to star, but later dropped out.
If Hathaway signs on, she'll be going up against herself at the box office, since "Ocean's Eight" is hitting theaters June 8, 2018.
