Daniel Radcliffe Struggles to Survive in 'Jungle' Trailer
A dream trip turns into a nightmare for Daniel Radcliffe in the first trailer for "Jungle."
Based on the real-life story of Yossi Ghinsberg, the movie follows Radcliffe as the young Israeli backpacker as he heads out into the Amazonian rain forest with two friends and a guide named Karl Ruprechter.
But their adventure goes terribly awry when Karl abandons them. The men struggle to survive without him, and find themselves battling the elements, jungle creatures, and even each other. And not all of them make it out.
Director Greg McLean ("Wolf Creek") sets a very tense tone, with the titular jungle seeming to close in around the hapless men. Thomas Kretschmann, Alex Russell, Joel Jackson and Yasmin Kassim also star.
Unlike his "Harry Potter" co-star Emma Watson, Radcliffe seems to be opting for indie fare (with occasional appearances in bigger budget movies).
"Jungle" premieres at the Melbourne International Film Festival on August 3.
