Netflix Reboots 'Carmen Sandiego' as Animated Series With Gina Rodriguez
Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? Right over there, on "Jane the Virgin."
Netflix is launching an animated reboot of "Carmen Sandiego," with Gina Rodriguez lined up to voice the titular criminal character who travels the world stealing international treasures. The series is based on the educational game, which inspired a live-action PBS game show, cartoon series, and books in the mid-1990s.
The streaming service said, the fedora-wearing mastermind is "back and ready for a new crop of international capers packed with thrilling adventure and intrigue. This fresh take presents an intimate look into Carmen's past where viewers will not only follow her escapades but also learn WHO in the world is Carmen Sandiego and WHY she became a super thief."
Rodriguez confirmed her voice casting news on Twitter:
I already have the fedora and coat. So it's definitely true. ???????????????? https://t.co/Fg2T6yw8W3
