Netflix's 'Seven Seconds' Lands 'American Crime' Star Regina King
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
A crime drama worked for "American Crime" (just look at her Emmy win), so it's no wonder she is sticking with the genre, at least for now. The actress is set to star in the upcoming Netflix series "Seven Seconds," reports Variety. The show will center on the aftermath of an injury-inducing incident involving a police officer and an African-American teenage boy in Jersey City.
Tension will escalate in the community, but the incident will hit particularly close to home for King's character. As Latrice Butler, she'll be the mother of the injured teen, Brenton. What she learns about her son in the aftermath will shock her, not to mention affect her life and her marriage.
King's co-stars include David Lyons, Michael Mosley, and Patrick Murney, and they'll be directed by Veena Sud. The "Seven Seconds" premiere date has not yet been announced, but 10 episodes are on the way.
