'Glee' Star Mark Salling Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography
Former "Glee" star Mark Salling has been arrested for possession of child pornography, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed on Tuesday.
Crime Watch Daily first reported that officers from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrived at Salling's Sunland, California home on Tuesday morning and served him with a search warrant. According to TMZ, officers discovered over a thousand images of what's been described as "child sexual exploitation" on Salling's computer, featuring children "significantly younger than 15 and 16 year olds." That computer has been seized along with several other electronic devices, TMZ reports.
The actor was arrested soon after, and taken to the police station for booking. He was charged with possession of child pornography.
According to Us Weekly, Salling has had scrapes with the law before, including a 2013 incident with his then-girlfriend, who accused the actor of sexual battery after he allegedly forced her to have sex without a condom. Salling denied the charges and the case was later settled.
The 33-year-old was last romantically linked to 21-year-old Disney actress Denyse Tontz, per Us Weekly. TMZ reports that anonymous law enforcement sources say an ex-girlfriend of Salling's may have tipped off police, though that detail has not been confirmed by authorities, and the report doesn't indicate if Tontz is the woman in question.
