'Grey's Anatomy' Season 13 Premiere Focuses on 'Explosive' Alex & Jo Drama
Jolex ended "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 in a rough place, and it doesn't sound like Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex (Justin Chambers) are in for a smoother ride when Season 13 premieres September 22 on ABC.
Here's what Entertainment Weekly just revealed to a fan, including details from actress Caterina Scorsone (Amelia):
Q: Are we seeing more of the Owen and Amelia wedding in the Grey's Anatomy premiere? — Poullete
A: The season premiere picks up right where we left off, but expect the Alex and Jo storyline to play a bigger role in the season opener. "In the first episode, it's really wedding night, so Owen and Amelia are otherwise occupied," Caterina Scorsone tells me. "And there's a big piece of drama going on having to do with another storyline [with Alex and Jo] that I think is going to play for a while in the season. It's very explosive, very exciting and interesting on social levels and personal character levels."
As you may recall, the Season 12 finale, "Family Affair," focused on the wedding of Amelia and Owen, but also showed Alex and Jo fight over her not wanting to marry him. She got drunk and revealed to Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) that she's already married, and afraid of her abusive husband. Then there was a misunderstanding with Alex and this happened:So it sounds like the Season 13 premiere will continue from that point, and possibly introduce us to Jo's husband ... and maybe even reveal Jo's real name?
While you wait for the premiere -- and this developing Jolex drama -- don't forget to check out the official Season 13 poster, which just features Meredith, and see if you agree with the fan speculation about what it means for Mer's future.
