'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Casting Call Issued for Major New Character
Are you ready to meet Augustus Ezekiel in "The Walking Dead" Season 7?
Before the Season 6 finale frustrated fans with that cliffhanger, it introduced Morgan to a couple of guys in armor. They looked like characters from The Kingdom, and a new Season 7 casting call appears to confirm that we will be meeting the leader of that survivor community, a guy named Ezekiel.
TVLine confirmed that TWD is casting for someone with the code name Augustus, but even they acknowledged it's really Ezekiel. Spoil the Dead got the full casting call details, showing that the character is meant to be a guest star in Season 7, arriving in Episode 3, and potentially staying on for a "multiple year series option":

[AUGUSTUS]African American, 40s. An eccentric, charismatic, and kind leader. He projects a regal air of confidence and wisdom to his people, and he enjoys the respect they give him because of it. As TVLine added of King Ezekiel,"a doozy of a character, His Highness is described as flamboyant and wise, nice and weird." Nice and weird -- just how we like 'em! On that weird note, not only is Ezekiel a self-styled king (he'd fit right in on "Game of Thrones") he has a pet tiger named Shiva. She had better be on the show, too, as CGI or however they do it.
In the comic book, The Kingdom is based at a high school in the Washington, D.C. area, and Rick Grimes and Jesus come to Ezekiel to try and make an alliance between the three communities to take down Negan and The Saviors.
So now fans are listing suggestions for who should play Ezekiel, including David Fennoy, Bashir Salahuddin, Djimon Hounsou, Harold Perrineau, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Bokeem Woodbine, and more. Do you have a suggestion for the role?
