Pamela Anderson Joins 'Baywatch' Movie
The original C.J. Parker is returning to "Baywatch": Pamela Anderson has officially joined the movie version of the hit '90s TV series.
Star Dwayne Johnson announced Anderson's involvement in the production in an Instagram post, where he posed with the bombshell actress and sung her praises. Johnson called Anderson's red swimsuit-clad lifeguard "one of the most iconic characters of a generation," and added, "We couldn't have made this movie without you."
Anderson won't be playing C.J. this time around, though, since swimsuit model Kelly Rohrbach is taking on the role in the flick. It's unclear how big of a part Anderson will have, or just what it entails.
What's also unclear is the plot of the film, which is being kept under wraps for now. Variety reports that the first footage of the flick, which screened at CinemaCon last week, featured "many four-letter words and racy comedy bits," so expect it to be a bit more of an adult adaptation of the source material.
"Baywatch" also stars Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra, Charlotte McKinney, Alexandra Daddario, Hannibal Buress, and Ilfenesh Hadera. Anderson's fellow original "Baywatch" star David Hasselhoff is also set to appear in the movie.
The flick is slated to run slo-mo into theaters on May 19, 2017.
