Tom Hardy Is a Very Dangerous Man to Know in 'Taboo' Trailer
"I have sworn that I will do very, very foolish things," Tom Hardy says in the trailer for "Taboo," an upcoming period drama from FX and BBC One. Bring it on!
The "Revenant" and "Mad Max: Fury Road" star is heading to TV to headline a show based on an original story by Hardy and his dad, Chips Hardy. The son plays James Keziah Delaney, a man who returns to 1814 London after being presumed dead. He arrives to claim his father's fortune and shipping empire, but the tumultuous time he spent in Africa is nothing compared to the treachery he finds in London.
The eight-episode series boasts a great cast, including "House of Cards" actor Michael Kelly and "Game of Thrones" players Jonathan Pryce and Oona Chaplin. It looks like a tremendous showcase for Hardy. He's unlikely to win an Oscar this weekend, but maybe he can make up for it with an Emmy.
"Taboo" is set to premiere sometime in 2017.
