It's hard to keep a secret when you're a celebrity and constantly followed by paparazzi; it's even harder when said secret is a growing baby bump. Anne Hathaway took that in stride this weekend when she shared an Instagram post of herself in a bikini, proudly showing off her belly.

Though news broke late last year that the actress and her husband, Adam Shulman, were expecting, Hathaway has never publicly confirmed her pregnancy, or addressed it in any way until now. The Oscar winner noted in her Instgram post that while sharing a bikini-clad photo on social media "is a little out of character" for her, she felt compelled to post the snap when she spotted some photographers taking her picture at the beach.


"I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy," Hathaway captioned the snap, which features the actress beaming while she clutches her bump. Ending her post in a smiley face, Hathaway added that she wanted the first public picture of her pregnancy to "be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter."

We couldn't agree more. Congrats to the mom-to-be!
